And sometimes it doesn't suck! My Favorite Things

My first post on this blog, and thus the entire reason for its creation, was about terrible customer service.

So today I'd like to take a moment to honor some GREAT customer service!

Yesterday I signed up for this service, and I couldn't be more excited. That probably makes me a nerd, a tree-hugger, Birkenstock-wearer, whale-saver, and many other hyphenated words that my Uncle likes to pin on me, and I don't even care!

Nature's Garden is a service that delivers local, mostly-organic produce to my house each week. So yes, it's just like a co-op or CSA. Only they're a modern version! They understand that some of us are terribly picky eaters, so they allow me to customize my basket via the web. I can choose things that I NEVER want to appear in there, no matter how wonderfully in season they are and how delectable the farmers tell me they are, and choose suitable substitutes. I can enter my vacation times, and not get baskets those weeks...and not have to pay for them! Actually, I can place a hold on my basket at any time and not have to pay for it. It's idealistic CSA world meets real world.

Now I haven't received my first basket yet, so I may be praising too soon. But I'm really, really thrilled about the possibilities here!

The only odd part of the whole thing: a note I received reminding me that they'll be putting my produce on my porch in the wee hours of the morning, and not to shoot the delivery man. Ahh, yes...what a wonderful reminder that one doesn't have to go so far away from my lovely city neighborhood to get into shotgun territory, or at least into much more rural areas. I'll be sure not to shoot my delivery man.

And while I'm being nerdy, I'll be cliche as well, and blog about an issue with my child. I couldn't find a size 3 diaper that I liked. Yes, I was going to be one of those Moms who used modern-day cloth diapers. Riiiiggghhtttt. That didn't happen. So I FINALLY found a disposable size 1 and 2 diaper that I liked, only to discover that I hated their size 3 diapers. Try as I might to convince my child to shrink her little buttcheeks back to a size 2, it didn't work. So today, these arrived! (Yes, they sell them at my local grocery store...and the two grocery stores I don't shop at...and Target...and everywhere...and I still bought them on the web. I'm a sucker for a bargain!) And we are loving them!

All of this shilling for products without pay has made me hungry. I'm going to go celebrate with a few of these, my favorite cookies in the world. If I make them quickly, there's still time to hide the evidence before my husband comes home.
